  • Nutrition Tips
    • Kids love to dip! So why not let them? So long as they’re eating their fruit and vegies right? Get your sauces, mayonnaise, honey etc in a little squeezy bottle and squeeze on a silly smiley face, their name or a cute pattern on a plain plate. Arrange the pieces on another plate and you’ll be surprised how FUN eating healthy food can now be!
  • Safety Tips
    • If you have a child with an allergy, make sure that you tell everyone that they come into contact with about their condition and requirements, and even constantly remind those that care for them all the time – you may feel silly and even over protective, but some things are just too important not to reinforce! Make everyone aware and alert to help prevent accidents.

  • First Aid Tips
    • If your child is rather freaked out by the sight of blood – as many children are – try using a red (or at least dark coloured) face flannel when you’re treating it and soaking up the blood. This will help calm them in the meantime. Oh, and kisses!
  • Healthy Tips
    • How many times have we heard from grandparents “in my day we used to walk for miles in the snow to get to school!” If you can, even if it’s a couple of times a week, try walking or riding to school, kindergarten, to get your bread/milk... and reward your child for not complaining with something healthy such as a frozen fruit and yoghurt treat on a hot day. Kids often actually love spending this time with you – if it’s not too rushed – to talk, pick flowers, notice bugs and learn road safety all at the same time.
  • Just for Fun
    • Chalk is a cheap and very effective way to keep a toddler active for such a long time! If you have a safe area of concrete, decking or fencing that can easily be washed away when it rains, let them go for it! You can find buckets of chalk in many cheap variety shops.
